Statement # 7: We can accept Intelligent Design because it is consistent with a specific beginning.
Scientific Rule: Principle of relativity
Evidence: Albert Einstein's theory of relativity wasn't initially taken seriously by Mr. Einstein himself. When the evidence pointed toward a definitive beginning of the earth, Einstein altered his findings to conform to his belief that the earth was eternal and had no specific beginning. Later he would refer to his altered findings and presuppositions as "The biggest blunder of my life".
What Einstein discovered and didn't want to accept factually was that the universe was expanding. The reason this is important in the evidentiary process of origins is that if the universe is expanding it means there was a definite beginning to our earth that ultimately causes the universe to expand away from our planet.
Astronomer Edwin Hubble further illustrated this when he noted in the 1920s that light from other galaxies tended toward the red side of the light spectrum. This phenomenon was further evidence of an expanding universe.
While these discoveries were about five years apart the conclusions were the same: An expanding universe meant a definitive beginning for earth.
