Creation vs EvolutionThe Atom-Being Particular

'Dancing Points of Light' is the way some scientists describe the makeup of the atom. It was once thought that the atom was the smallest particle on earth, but as scientific methods advanced so too the ability to look deeper into the atom where there was more discoveries to be made.

Diving into the subatomic level

There is a whole series of particles that exist within the mainframe of the atom. They consist of antilepton, antiparticle, antiquark, hadron, lepton and quark. Physicists consider some of these particles hypothetical because they cannot be observed, but are believed to be present.

The atom has been simply described as, "A chemical unit, composed of protons, neutrons, and electrons, that cannot further break down by chemical means."

What is an atom?

Essentially the atom is the element that keeps all matter together. Rocks are made of atoms and so are hair follicles. Trees are comprised of atoms and so is the human eye.

In the year 2000, California researchers proved that lasers could provide a nuclear reaction allowing physicists to venture into new areas of atomic research.

By accessing the atomic energy within the atom there is the belief that an untold amount of energy could be released, harnessed and made available to a worldwide population. However, nuclear fallout has resulted in death, mutations and the threat of world domination through advanced weaponry; all of this due to a particle you cannot see.

The design of the atom is incredibly complex and is foundational for all matter. One researcher has asked, "How, when no life existed, did substances come into being which today are absolutely essential to living systems yet which can only be formed by those systems?" This is a question that has plagued scientists throughout history. Since intelligent design is generally ruled out as a plausible answer scientists often pursue other theories to help make sense of their scientific queries.

However, if you follow evolutionary theory back as far as your mind will allow, you come to the point of the atom. For the sake of argument let's say that all life began through the complex structure of the atom. The question still remains, where did the atom come from?

Science may point to evolution as the most plausible explanation for the existence of earth, mankind and all matter that is part of our existence. Yet, if the atom were not a component of order our world would literally fly apart, yet somehow atoms remain orderly and life as we know it continues.

Perhaps the atom seems
designed because it is designed.
