"The arteries have no sensation, for they even are without blood, nor do they all contain the breath of life; and when they are cut only the part of the body concerned is paralyzed...the veins spread underneath the whole skin, finally ending in very thin threads, and they narrow down into such an extremely minute size that the blood cannot pass through them nor can anything else but the moisture passing out from the blood in innumerable small drops which is called sweat." - Pliny the Elder (AD 23-79)

It is possible to read the above quote and marvel at the inadequate understanding of previous scientific eras. Pliny the Elder was well respected and wrote over three dozens volumes on the human body. However, the scientific community summarily dismisses some of his work today.

Present day science understands that sweat is not a byproduct of blood. They further understand that blood does, in fact, flow through arteries, veins and capillaries. We can say this with confidence because it is observable with today's scientific advances.

Interestingly as more evidence surfaces that dispel the many theories of evolution, the less likely it is to find the scientific community reversing their long held understanding of science.

Since macroevolution has never been observed, evolutionary theory must necessarily hinge on microevolution and then postulate that macroevolution must be true if only by some undefined association.

Advances in scientific discovery occur when new information is observed and noted. This process has helped dismiss multiple wrong ideas about the human body and the many systems that work together to provide the experience of being human.

In the case of the circulatory system you will find that the heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, veins and arteries work together to keep nutrient-filled and oxygenated blood flowing throughout the body.

The blood in our bodies is subjected to an incredible process of recharging the supply with nutrients from the food we eat, oxygen from the air we breathe, the removal of waste products through the kidneys and mass distribution and circulation of the blood courtesy of the heart.

While science has continued to evolve in their understanding of the human body they seem ill-equipped to consider a process other than natural selection and Darwinian evolution to explain the origin of man.

As the numbers continue to decrease among those who still subscribe to evolutionary thought you have to wonder if future generations may observe evolutionary theory in the same way we observe the findings of Pliny the Elder.
